Before coming to C-life, Valery had a functional organization though weak with no proper directions. Then a friend told her about C-Life and she decided to try it. Valery is from the North-West Region of Cameroon precisely from Donga-Mantung Division. She is a graduate from the University of Buea with a Bachelor’s Degree in Women and Gender Studies/Sociology and Anthropology. After discovering who she truly was and her calling, Valerie decided to follow her passion in health services. Growing up, Valery was passionate about serving the community though with less in her hands, she did what she could. Her passion was later power-driven by what she witnessed with the several NGOs where she served as a volunteer. It dawned on her that the less privilege in the society had limited access to health care, knowledge and finances. This stimulated her to start her organization called Caring Hearts Health Care Foundation (CHHCF) with the main objective to promote health and well being to everyone irrespective of age. CHHF came full swing in January 2018 and has impacted more than 1,000 people through counseling, health education and humanitarian activities. They have successfully carried out projects on educating young girls on menstrual hygiene, dental hygiene for primary school children, stopping child sexual abuse and sensitization against COVID-19 in partnership with C-Life. As a baby organization, CHHCF has as main challenge finances and getting into partnership with other organizations. This is so because most recognized organizations do not consider collaborating with young organization to pull them but this has not in any way dampened her vision. Before coming to C-life Valery had her organization operating with limited knowledge on how to run the initiative, she acquired leadership skills that helped her reorganize the organization making it what it is today. Attending C-Life also grew and enrich her spiritually life enabling her to serve her community more with integrity. As a Servant Leader, CEO and Founder coupled with her years of experience as a health personnel, Valery believes that “Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations”. She draws her inspiration from Jeremiah 29; 11 “For I know the plans I have for you ‘declares the LORD, Plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you hope and a future”. This verse leads her to excellence and she believes everything is working according to God’s plan and that the end will be productive.
To her, Servant Leadership is a combination of being selfless, humble, collaborative, resolving conflicts, being empathetic and above all being a leader with integrity. To the Youths, Valery says “Put GOD first in everything you do, embrace integrity and always think positive.”
