At time like this when the whole world is in panic for fear of Covid-19; thousands of others have lost their lives globally.

​Some youths in the streets of Yaoundé still believe the killer virus is a myth than a reality others go by the opinion that the virus can survive in Africa climate while others still do not believe in the figures given by the state as regards the number of affected persons.

The fact is, Covid-19 is a reality not a myth as some think. Many have died and are still dying of it and now Cameroon is the most affected country in Central Africa with 685 infected persons according information from the Ministry of Public Health and the number of cases continue to increase as the days go by.

​To effectively combat and limit the spread of the virus, there are measures prescribed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and locally by governments; washing of hands with soap and running water, use of hand sanitizers, social distancing and lot more.

​Being aware of the sudden rise in the prices of hand sanitizers, C-Life Cameroon in partnership with Caring Hearts Health Care Foundation, some C-Life alumni and some passionate youths took the initiative to produce locally made hand sanitizers, which they took to the streets and distributed to taxi drivers and bike riders.

​In this light, the public was effective sensitized on hand washing as a means to limit the spread of the virus. Also, stickers were distributed reminding taxi drivers, bike riders and passengers of the action they need to take to avoid being infected thus curbing the spread of the virus.

This activity was full of fun as approximately over 500 people either washed their hands, received a sticker on how to prevent the virus or had a free locally made hand sanitizer within the focused area, which was from entre Simbock, and Carrefour Jouvance two hotspots in the capital city of Yaounde, Cameroon.
